Quick answers about QR menus.
Is this QR menu generator really free? +
Yes — completely free, no signup, no watermark. Generate as many QR codes as you need and download them as high-resolution PNG. We make money when restaurants love our QR-menu workflow and decide to upgrade to our full POS — but this generator stays free forever.
What can I link the QR code to? +
Anything: your existing menu PDF, a Google Drive link, your website, a WhatsApp Business number with a pre-filled message ("Hi, I want to order"), or any custom URL. WhatsApp QR codes are the highest-converting in 2026 — see our WhatsApp marketing playbook.
How big should the QR code be when printed? +
Minimum 2.5 × 2.5 cm (1 × 1 inch) for table-top placement. For wall posters or windows, 7 × 7 cm or larger. Always test the scan from arm's length before printing in volume.
Will the QR code stop working over time? +
No. The QR code itself is just a permanent encoding of the URL you chose. As long as that URL stays alive, the QR keeps working. If you change menu providers or want to update the destination, generate a new QR — it's free.
Can I add my logo to the QR code? +
Logo-in-QR isn't supported in this free generator — but Online eMenu's full QR menu product includes brand logo overlays, dynamic menus (you can change the destination without reprinting), and analytics on how many diners actually scan. Talk to us if that's the feature you need.
Why are QR menus better than printed menus? +
Three reasons: (1) you can update prices and items instantly without reprinting, (2) hygienic — no shared physical menus, (3) diners can scroll and zoom in on photos. For restaurants, the killer feature is order-direct-from-QR: scan, browse, order, pay — all from the phone they already have.
Scan → order → pay → all on one phone.
Online eMenu's QR ordering lets diners scan, browse your menu with photos, place orders, and pay by UPI — all without your staff. Built into the Unified CRM at ₹199/month.
